Welcome to The Dolphin
The new independent in the scene around Newbury station where it’s all about being simply delicious, simply fresh, simply fun-lovin and definitely dandy. A house for the parched, the hungry, the sleepy and the opinionated located near to independent offices and shops, Hogan’s music, the Vue cinema; a stones throw from Newbury racecourse, the Market Square, the Corn Exchange and beyond to Highclere Castle and the North Wessex Downs.
SEE THE HOUSE
A boutique hotel designed as properly part of your whole stay. Coffee on the house downstairs when you arrive, take your bags upstairs and unwind when it suits you, come back down for drinking and eating and then when you go back it’s to relax … a big tv, great wifi, bottomless pillows and the most comfy bed. See you again at breakfast.
HOST YOUR PARTY
The Dolphin has a wonderful collection of spaces for eating and drinking each created for your different mood. We do private dining, meeting rooms, drinks parties, birthdays, weddings and so much more. We offer a range of specially curated private dining menus or offer personalised menus for larger groups.
- What's On -
Bottomless Brunch at the Dolphin
Saturday brunch at the Dolphin is perfect to set you up for a fine weekend. The first Saturday of every month you can also turn this into a Bottomless brunch.
We don’t cut corners with cheap Prosecco but just treat you to the delights of the fine wine made for us by Luca Botter and his family … he’s the most lovely (and slightly bonkers) Italia … his wines are as smooth and good looking as the man himself
But obviously its also about the food … Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine, Eggs Royale, Sausage Sandwiches and much more … because you’re worth it…
Newbury's best Sunday lunch
We do Newbury’s best Sunday lunch … probably! A beautiful dining room, amazig Turner Hardy & Co Bloody Marys, a great selection of beers and wines, Sunday papers, plenty of board games and simply delicious roasts. We always have the Topside joint ready and then we’ll add chicken or pork as well as the perfect vegetarian options.
We also have our own brand of tomato juice made entirely form Isle of Wight tomatoes which make the most sensational Bloody Marys
If you’re still feeling punchy large it up with one of our magnums of Claret or Pouilly Fumé (or the double magnum of Vacqueras)
Of course you could also book our the Fish tank for a dozen of you, or the entire garden room for up to 40 of you. Private dining never seemed so easy
Meat Free Mondays are here to stay
Meat Free Monday is for those looking to make a difference, for themselves or the greater good, as all our specials will be meat free. Alongside our selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes on our regular menus this gives a cracking choice. As they say at one of those big supermarket chains with the vegetable aisles… every little counts!
The Dolphins Funky Friday Night Fun
Funky Friday night fun is coming to Newbury…. Funky Fridays are for groovy tunes, champagne cocktails (and Espresso Martinis, Negronis and the likes) Because Fridays are the new Fridays; whatever anyone else says its the only way to get the weekend off to a flying start! Come straight from the office or go home to get your glad rags on… we’ll be here tapping our toes waiting for the groove to funk up Newbury Town.
Christmas Party Season is here
We’re almost full but have a few spaces left for your Christmas Party in Newbury. So don’t delay, get your festive friends together and get that party started; or a buffet or a quiznight or a three course dinner or a drink-a-thon or canapés or a cocktail making class…. You think of it and we’ll do our best to sort it!
The Autumn Internationals. November
All the big games beamed into the pub and the garden room. Lunch and and afternoon of rugby … how civilised!
The Weekly Quiz every Tuesday
Newbury’s bestest Pub Quiz with weekly winners, the roll over jackpot and simply the best quizmaster in town! We run one at our sister pub in Salisbury and every week has been a sell out for 18 months now and besides that its a great excuse to get a group of your brainiest mates together … because you gotta be in it to win it
The Ladbrokes Winter Carnival 30/11 – 1/12
The perfect place to celebrate your winning day (or not!) With the garden bar welcoming the returning racegoers and the Saloon and Bartholomew bar warming up those who’ve been outside for long enough its gonna be the place to carry on the festival.
One of the closest pubs to the railway station its a perfect place to meet up. Because the Ladbrokes Winter Carnival is about the town as well as the racecourse!
